IPL 2020 Auction is near and the searches are going higher and higher. Today, let me share the updates from IPL 2020.

Highlights of IPL 2020:

  • Players’ auction is being conducted in Kolkata for the first time on Thursday, 19th December 2019
  • IPL 2020 Teams like Bangalore, Punjab, Kolkata, and Delhi have opted to rebuild their squad
  • Kings XI Punjab have the biggest balance of Rs 42.70 crores, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders Rs 35.65 crore

IPL 2020 Teams and Players List

As you all know that IPL 2020 Auctions will be held in Kolkata on 19th December 2019. Ahead of the IPL 2020 auctions, Teams have announced the list of players released and retained.
Some of the IPL teams have made noticeable changes like Royal Challengers Bangalore, King’s XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Ryders, and Delhi Capitals. Each team has a kitty of Rs. 82 crores in addition to the balance from the last IPL season and an additional purse of Rs. 3 crores for the 2020 season.

Among all the 8 IPL 2020 teams, Kings XI Punjab has the biggest balance of Rs 42.70 crores, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders at Rs 35.65 crores and Rajasthan Royals at Rs 28  crores.



Of the eight franchises, Royal Challengers Bangalore has released the most players while Sunrisers Hyderabad has released the least players from their balanced squad.
IPL 2020 Teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals have opted to rebuild their squad for 2020 season whereas champion teams like Mumbai Indians & Chennai Super Kings have their first team sorted with fewest slots remaining to fill.

  1. Mumbai Indians (MI)
Players Released: Yuvraj Singh, Adam Milne, Evin Lewis, Jason Behrendorff, Ben Cutting, Barinder Sran, Beuran Hendricks, Rasikh Salam, Alzarri Joseph, and Pankaj Jaiswal.
Players Retained: Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieran Pollard, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Anmolpreet Singh, Trent Boult, Rahul Chahar, Anukul Roy, Dhawal Kulkarni, Aditya Tare, Sherfane Rutherford, and Jayant Yadav.
Purse Remaining: Rs 13.05 crore
  1. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Players Released: Dhruv Shorey, Mohit Sharma, Sam Billings, Chaitanya Bishnoi, David Willey, and Scott Kuggeleijn.
Players Retained: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Murali Vijay, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Monu Kumar, N Jagadeesan, Harbhajan Singh, Karn Sharma, Imran Tahir, Deepak Chahar, KM Asif, and Ruturaj Gaikwad,
Purse Remaining: Rs 14.60 crore
  1. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Players Released: Shimron Hetmeyer, Marcus Stoinis, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Colin de Grandhomme, Dale Steyn, and Tim Southee.
Players Retained: Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali, Parthiv Patel, Pawan Negi, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Gurkeerat Mann, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, and Devdutt Padikkal.
Purse Remaining: Rs 27.90 crore

  1. Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Players Released: Rahul Tripathi, Ashton Turner, Oshane Thomas, Liam Livingstone, Shubham Ranjane, Prashant Chopra, Ish Sodhi, Jaydev Unadkat, Stuart Binny, Sudheshan Midhun and Aryaman Birla.
Players Retained: Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, Manan Vohra, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Shashank Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Mahipal Lomror, Varun Aaron, Mayank Markande, Ankit Rajpoot and Rahul Tewatia.
Purse Remaining: Rs 28.90 crore
  1. Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH)
Players Released: Martin Guptill, Shakib al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Deepak Hooda, and Ricky Bhui.
Players Retained: Kane Williamson, David Warner, Manish Pandey, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jonny Bairstow, Vijay Shankar, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Wriddhiman Saha, Shreevats Goswami, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, Siddarth Kaul, Shahbaz Nadeem, Billy Stanlake, Basil Thampi, T Natarajan, and Abhishek Sharma.
Purse Remaining: Rs 17.00 crore
  1. Delhi Capitals (DC)
Players Released: Hanuma Vihari, Chris Morris, Colin Ingram, Ankush Bains, Colin Munro, Manjot Kalra, Jalaj Saxena, Nathu Singh, and Bandaru Ayyappa
Players Retained: Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kagiso Rabada, Keemo Paul, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, R Ashwin, and Avesh Khan.
Purse Remaining: Rs 27.85 crore

  1. King’s XI Punjab (KXIP)
Players Released: David Miller, Moises Henriques, Sam Curran, Andrew Tye, Prabhsimran Singh, Agnivesh Ayachi, and Varun Chakravarthy.
Players Released: KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Sarfaraz Khan, Nicholas Pooran, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, K Gowtham, Mohammed Shami, M Ashwin, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Arshdeep Singh, Hardus Viljoen, J Suchith, Harpreet Brar, and Darshan Nalkande.
Purse Remaining: Rs 42.70 crore
  1. Kolkata Knight Ryders (KKR)
Players Released: Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn, Piyush Chawla, Joe Denly, Anrich Nortje, Yarra Prithviraj, Nikhik Naik, Matthew Kelly, KC Cariappa, Shrikant Mundhe, and Carlos Brathwaite.
Players Retained: Dinesh Karthik, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Siddhesh Lad, Kuldeep Yadav, Andre Russell, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Sunil Narine, Lockie Ferguson, Sandeep Warrier, Harry Gurney, and Shivam Mavi.
Purse Remaining: Rs 35.65 crore
